Neha holds over 30 years of experience working in the Cybersecurity space, having developed, driven and delivered mission critical security engineering projects in US Defense, Health Care, Science, Banking/Fin Tech and various VC-backed Startups.

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, she has served as both a hands-on Sr Principal CyberSecurity Engineer and managing Director, working to secure a broad set of multi-million dollar ventures, including transportation applications, public ‘Life and Limb’ Early Warning Systems, DRM and Video on Demand, ‘B2B’ APIs in Banking and Fin Tech, US National Research Labs, as well as SOC2, ISO27K, and HIPAA compliance projects.

Her specialities in the Cybersecurity field include Penetration Testing, Privacy Engineering, Identity Management and ‘Shift-Left’ oriented work in Software Architecture and Engineering, operating in various areas of the Secure Development Lifecycle.

Neha also engages in extensive work in the non-profit space, including projects supported by the Open Technology Fund, Akvo, and International Rivers. She regularly serves as a Sr Cybersecurity Advisor for the Netherland’s based Non-Profit, Radically Open Security, delivering penetration testing and security research projects for commercial orgs and open source foundation projects supported by NLNet.

Neha enjoys work that allows both influence and hands-on expertise, keen awareness of industry standards, and difficult/hard to solve engineering projects that span multiple teams and disciplines.

She brings agility, depth, and a laser sharp focus to her work, and very much enjoys mission critical challenges. She is passionate about close ‘hand-in-hand’ collaborations with a variety of Engineering disciplines, and has a singular skill in translating top down directives to actionable deliverables for large teams.

In kind, Neha enjoys translating complex obstacles and potential solutions from the ‘bottom up’, enabling key decision making for executive teams.

Neha’s passion for Cybersecurity has led her to work globally across both US, European, and APAC Cybersecurity Industries. She currently serves as founder and head of the Northern Territory based specialist Cyber Security outfit, DeepOcean.
